What people are saying about "Promises..."
Oh My GOD!!! You need to quit your day job immediately because writing is definitely your calling. I got the book as a Christmas gift. It started off like the typical black fiction book but then the real Lasaia came out. Not only was she crazy but she was still believable and kind of made you feel sorry for her... ...This is your first novel and is by far one of the top 5 books that I have ever read in my life. - Kya / New Orleans, LA
This story was captivating, it took you on a emotional rollercoaster of sensuality, sympathy, envy, love and anger. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and could not put it down. - C.R. Kennedy / Norcross, GA
I thought the book was very deep. The thought process behind such a masterpiece is almost scary but terrific in the sense of the flow from the beginning to the end. Once I picked it up I did not want to put it down. I was literally reading it while sitting at railroad crossings, red lights, and stop signs. And trust me... I don't usually pray for trains or red lights when I am trying to get home after work. It was just that engaging! - A. Hamilton / Pensacola, FL
Promises.... keeps you begging for more! This book will have sisters looking at their men in a whole new light! B.C. Meekins is a gifted writer who has the ability to draw the reader into his woven web of suspense. Marcus and his beautiful wife Sherise have a secure future together; that is until he allows himself to be drawn into the deceptive ploys of his former classmate and neighbor Lasaia. Will he see her true colors before it is too late. I love this book because there is a lesson in here for men and women. Run don't walk to your nearest bookstore and tell them you want Promises by B.C. Meekins. - D. Wheeless / Brooklyn, NY

B.C. Meekins Hey people,
First, let me thank you for taking the time out to stop by and check out my site. If you have purchased a copy of my book, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting my dream. I've been working to bring my work to the public for a long time now and it's amazing to see the positive response I have received. It is very much appreciated.
If you have any questions, comments, rants, suggestions... anything at all, please don't hesitate to send me an email and let me know your thoughts. I'm not one of those haughty authors who thinks they know more about good literature than his readers. I'm just a laid back country boy from North Florida who enjoys entertaining people. I would always like to hear from you.
If there are any new authors out there that are thinking about writing or have finished their works and need to know which direction to go, I definitely want to hear from you guys. I've been there, and done that... and still doing it. I'm pretty much learning about this thing as I go but I will put any information I have out there for you and if you know something I don't (which you probably do) I would love to learn about it.
But for now, just check out the site, leave a comment or send me an email. You should find everything you need here to make a decision on whether you want to purchase the book and how to do it. Keep a look out for more titles from me. As long as you keep reading them, I'll keep writing them.

So What's It All About???
Synopsis:
Marcus and Lasaia grew up as neighbors in Albany, Ga. After finding her hiding in his parent’s shed one night, her family’s dark secret becomes clear. She begs Marcus not to tell anyone about it, which becomes the first promise he ever made to her… but it wouldn't be the last. Through their young life he would make promises to her, not knowing the full effect of his words. He would always bring his words to fruition, even when she thought there was no way for him to come through. To him, he was just doing what his father always taught him to do. "Son, your word is your bond," he would always say. But to Lasaia, his words were golden. He was the only stable person in her otherwise chaotic life.
After finishing high school, and going off to their respective colleges, the two lose contact with each other... that is until 10 years later when they run into each other while Marcus is on a trip to visit his brother. As Lasaia tries to reinsert herself back into Marcus’s life it becomes clear that all of those childhood feeling hadn't completely been washed away by the sands of time. After a few inappropriate incidents, Marcus realizes that his family is what is important to him now and tries to focus on Lasaia as just his old friend. But, Lasaia has no intention of letting her man slip away from her again.
When Marcus returns to Atlanta for business, Lasaia is able to convince him to go out one night with her for a friendly night on the town. After a few drinks, Lasaia brings up the one promise that he failed to keep to her. A promise made back in their high school days. As Lasaia fights to reclaim what was once hers, Marcus fights to keep this woman from destroying his life. Sometimes keeping your word can have harmful, even deadly consequences. Some promises are better left broken.

What people are saying about "Promises..."
B.C. Meekins takes you on an emotional ride where you want to yell at Marcus and tell him to be smarter. The book is very intriguing and sets you up for hopefully a sequel. I would recommend this book to anyone who is an avid reader and who loves drama.
- Tiombe Royals / Words of Inspiration Book Club
This book was very deep and very detailed. It kept me wanting to turn the page to find out what was going to happen next. This being his first publication, I'm already anticipating his next book. I can guarantee that you will see more of B.C. Meekins in the future.
- Esto / Atlanta, GA
I loved this book, when i read it I could actually visualize the characters and could not put the book down!!!! Definitely a must read with exciting twists and turns.
- T. Smith / Norfolk, VA
A morality tale full of lies, love, loyalty, deceit and absolution, PROMISES targets the worst case scenario of the cheating husband. Even with the tried and true 'fatal attraction' concept at practice here, the author still manages to find a new twist. The mistress is not some mystery date picked up in a bar somewhere. The protagonist has, through his caring childhood interaction with her, created the monster he faces. The flashbacks to their childhood relationship clarify and create the real-time relationship full of twists and turns. Well written, though not well edited, it is a great 1st novel from a promising young author. I beleive it will be interesting to watch his development. Get a copy! Im sure you will enjoy every page as I did.
